I’ve been involved in the CDU Aspire Program for the past 5 years now and last night I saw one of the year 12 groups graduate from their scholarship.

The Aspire Program is a partnership initiative between Charles Darwin University and Northern Territory secondary schools. It aims to help students from diverse backgrounds achieve their best results in secondary school and to raise the aspirations of young people to pursue tertiary study.

I’ve been a mentor and workshop facilitator in Aspire since it started and I’ve seen each group grow from nervous, slightly anxious Year 10s to incredibly inspiring young leaders in Year 12.

This particular group has had many challenges and faced them all with resilience and self confidence and I could not be prouder of their tenacity and their drive.

All the best my Aspire Group D students, I look forward to asking favours from you all when you’re successful humans running the NT.
