I felt very privileged to facilitate the inaugural Industry Wellbeing Collaborative with AFL Northern Territory and sporting organisations across the Top End.

The idea was to unearth tangible actions to encourage wellbeing and positive conversations for players, athletes and communities and included reps from heaps of different sports and allied health groups. It was so good to help facilitate these conversations and provide a space for leaders in this industry to talk candidly and share resources.

I was proud to be involved by running activities to generate discussion and keeping the energy up during heavy conversations. Facilitating these sorts of initiatives is one of my favourite things to do.

Congratulations AFL NT and headspace Darwin on the leadership you showed to coordinate this event – that initiative is so valuable. One of my key take home messages was it’s important to start showing and celebrating positive stories about wellbeing practise – wellbeing and awareness of mental health doesn’t always have to be ‘when things are bad’ it can be preventative and part of our every day dialogue.
